Supplemental Funding

Central Scholarship’s support of undergraduate, graduate, professional, and career training recipients doesn’t stop at the initial scholarship or interest-free loan. We design programs to help our students overcome a variety of financial obstacles that occur during their pursuit of higher education.

Emergency Funding

Central Scholarship’s Emergency Funding program aims to help with financial barriers that could prevent students from completing their undergraduate, graduate, professional, or career training studies. The program is open to all Central Scholarship recipients and provides grants up to $1,000 for recipients who have encountered financial hardship due to an emergency, accident, or other unexpected incidents. Students may apply for funds when they have exhausted all other resources. This funding is not intended to replace or supplement existing financial aid and does not have to be repaid.

Note: Must be a Central Scholarship recipient.

Persistence Funding

Central Scholarship offers Persistence Grants to its students each semester to help cover modest financial shortfalls affecting the students’ ability to pay their cost of attendance. Applicants must have a modest balance owed to their college or university which would prevent them from enrolling in the next semester if not paid off. Persistence Grants may not exceed $1,000 for each individual request. Students should apply for funds when they have exhausted all other resources. This funding is not intended to replace or supplement existing financial aid and does not have to be repaid. Applicants must be in good standing with Central Scholarship in order to be eligible.

Note: Must be a Central Scholarship recipient.

Opportunity Funding

Central Scholarship’s Opportunity Funding program exists to allow our recipients access to academic and professional opportunities they would otherwise have difficulty attaining. Some examples of opportunities the program has funded are clothes for an interview, fees for an academic entrance exam like the MCAT, or stipends for unpaid internships. Applicants must have a financial need which supplements their academic or career goals, and must be in good standing with Central Scholarship. Opportunity grants may not exceed $1,000. Students should apply for funds when they have exhausted all other resources. This funding is not intended to replace or supplement existing financial aid and does not have to be repaid.

Note: Must be a Central Scholarship recipient.
