From Left to Right: Karson Kamenetz, Kevin Kamenetz, Jill Kamenetz, Dylan Kamenetz

The Kevin Kamenetz Scholarship Fund was established in 2018 to honor the life and work of former Baltimore County Executive Kevin Kamenetz.  This extraordinary gift will provide college scholarships for qualifying students from Baltimore County public schools. Kevin was a dedicated public servant and cared very much about public education. He felt strongly that Maryland students should be supported from pre-school all the way through to graduation and proposed programs like Universal Pre-K and debt-free community college. It was these bold ideas that made innovation a focal point of his public service career.

Kevin served on the Baltimore County Council and as County Executive for 24 years. He was seeking to become Governor of Maryland at the time of his passing.

Kevin leaves a legacy as a hard-working, “walk the talk,” man who believed that government should serve everyday people. He loved his family and work.  He loved politics and wanted students to succeed in education. His legacy will be shared in perpetuity with young people living in Baltimore County.

The college scholarship application opens on January 1, 2019.
