Introducing our 2019-2020 Scholarship Recipients!

The scholarship applications were submitted, the interviews were held, and we finally announced our 2019-2020 scholarship recipients! Our students worked hard to get to this moment and for many their journey to a higher education came with obstacles. Every August, we hold our Student Awards Ceremony to celebrate the hard work, resiliency, and talent of our scholars and this year was filled with memorable moments!

The Kevin Kamenetz Scholarship Fund

We were honored to give out our first award from the Kevin Kamenetz Scholarship Fund to Baltimore County student Ndeh Tadzong. This scholarship would not have been possible without the Committee for Kamenetz and Kevin’s wife, Jill, and children Karson and Dylan.

Central Scholarship Recipient, Dr. Jill Young

Dr. Jill Young, a former Central Scholarship recipient, embodies the values of Central Scholarship. She shared her story of the road she took to become a dentist that was filled with uncertainty and challenges, but she never gave up, and today she is proof that you can achieve your big dreams.

Corporate Community Award

Dr. Sandy Siegel, Chairman United Urology Group, accepted Central Scholarship’s second annual Corporate Community Award on behalf of Chesapeake Urology Associates.

Student Loan Pay Down Award

Kimberly Ozuna was the surprise winner of Central Scholarship’s Student Loan Pay-Down presented at their annual Student Awards Ceremony. Kimberly will receive up to $30,000 that will go towards paying down her undergraduate student loans! She is a teacher devoted to helping students get excited about math and is focused on giving her students the best environment in which they can learn and aspires to start her own tutoring business.
