At the recent 2024 Baltimore GameChangers event, Jared Krieger of Defender One highlighted the impact of CS partnership and the creation of Defender One Fund for security credentialing. He emphasized:
"Together with our amazing friends at Central Scholarship, we created the first of its kind security credentialing fund. And what that means to us is simple; We're making our communities safer through education and grant funding, eliminating financial barriers so that recipients can make their own communities safer and be their own advocates."
Due to the passage of Maryland Senate Bill 760, starting June 1, 2024, specific training is required for security credentialing. If you are considering a pathway to a career in criminal justice, this certification will allow you direct access to a job at Defender One or one of their partners, as well as connections to law enforcement agencies.
This partnership exemplifies how Central Scholarship continues to create meaningful opportunities and foster community growth. Together, we are paving the way for a brighter future and empowering students to Go higher! We invite everyone to share this news and support our mission.
